Bitrate
The bitrate of the resulting file. Higher bitrates improve the file quality but also increase its size. |
Samplerate
Higher sample rates can improve the file’s quality but can also decrease it, depending on the selected bitrate and the input file. If the sample rate is too high, there will be more encoding artifacts. If it is too low, bitrate may be wasted. It is generally recommended that you let the program choose an appropriate sample rate (auto). The selected sample rate does not influence the file size. |
Variable Bitrate
Allow the encoder to adapt the bitrate according to the input audio. This is done in a way so that the average bitrate is still the one specified above. Activating this option improves the file’s quality. |
Stereo
If deactivated, the output file will contain only one audio channel (mono). |
