This is another cool feature of Ashampoo Music Studio 3. Ashampoo Music Studio 3 can convert between the following file formats: WAV, MP3, Ogg Vorbis and FLAC. Any combination of these as source or destination format is possible. In addition, it can also convert WMA files into the formats mentioned above, but not the other way round. You can also convert audio files from one format into the same format with different parameters. I.e. you can change the bit rate, the quality, etc.
It will take just five steps to convert your audio files into another format. If you select Custom Quality for the output format it will take one step more, because you are able to customize the settings for the files.

Using Normal Mode…
You will be guided through a series of different screens to enter the output settings. Each of these screens contains explanations about your options and their effects. You will be led through the following steps:
Select an output format Here you decide what kind of file you would like to create (MP3, WAV, Ogg Vorbis, etc.). You select a file format by placing a check mark next to it.
Select an output quality In this screen you will be asked what the quality of the output files should be. You can select between different pre-defined quality settings, or define your own by selecting Custom Quality.
If you select Custom Quality then another screen will follow, where you can specify the settings manually. Note that the Custom Quality screen is slightly different depending on which output format you chose.
Select filters This screen allows you to specify whether the program should filter the audio before writing it to the output files. At the moment, the Ashampoo Music Studio 3 supports only one filter: Normalize Volume. If you select this filter (by placing a check mark in the box next to it) then the volume of the file will be brought to a standard level. If you do this with multiple files then all of them will have the same volume.
Select an output location Here you specify where the output files should be stored. By default, the files are stored in a folder on your desktop. You can also choose what the program should do if it wants to create an output file, but a file with the same name already exists. The existing file can either be renamed, or it can be moved to the recycle bin.
Confirm settings The last screen of the output settings displays a short summary of the decisions you have made. If everything is as you want it, you can click on the Start button to start the process. If you want to make some changes to the settings, just click on the Back button at the bottom of the screen to go back to the previous pages.

Using Expert Mode…
In Expert Mode all output settings are presented on a single screen.
You can specify the following:
Output format Here you can select what kind of file (1) you would like to create (MP3, WAV, Ogg Vorbis, etc.).
Output Quality This defines the quality the output files should have. You can select between different pre-defined quality settings (2), or define your own by selecting Custom Quality. The encoding settings that will be used for the selected quality are displayed below the list (3).
If you select Custom Quality you can click on the Configure button (4) which brings up a dialog where you can specify your own encoding settings. Note that the dialog is slightly different depending on which output format you have selected.
Audio filters You can also specify whether the program should filter the audio before writing it to the output files. At the moment, the AudioCenter supports only one filter: Normalize Volume (5). If you select this filter then the volume of the file will be brought to a standard level. If you do this with multiple files then all of them will have the same volume. Note, that selecting a filter will increase the time needed to create the output files.
Output location Here you specify where the output files should be stored (6).
Replace behaviour You can also choose what the program should do if it wants to create an output file, but a file with the same name already exists (7). The existing file can either be renamed, or it can be moved to the recycle bin.
When you are done with the settings, click on the Start button (8) at the bottom of the page to begin the process.
